  1. Step away from all existing resources, including housing, and live exclusively for a month on the federal minimum wage of $ 7.25 which has not increased since 2009.
  2. Apply for minimum wage jobs in which depending upon each state’s minimum wage, they will earn between $7.25 to $17.00 an hour nationwide.
  3. Find housing.
  4. Pay for rent, groceries, and gas or public transportation each week.
  5. Get sick and go to the doctors or hospital without health insurance, then apply for Medicaid or Medicare.
  6. Attempt to get mental health care and other social support services.
  7. Spend three full days and nights in an emergency department at their local hospital.
  8. Spend five nights in a homeless shelter, on the street, or in an encampment with no personal resources. Two nights have to be 32 degrees or colder.
  9. Spend five days and nights with police and emergency first responders; learn to help revive individuals with NARCAN.
